Roosevelt School District Continually Strives to Give Students a Quality Education

The Roosevelt Elementary School District consists of 20 schools, including Cloves C Campbell Sr Elementary School, Sunland Elementary School, C O Greenfield School, and Cesar E Chavez Community School. RESD has a mission that states, “Roosevelt School District inspires, motivates, and educates each student as future leaders in our society” and a motto that reads, “… success for every student, in every classroom, every day.”

One of the district’s teachers recently received an honor. Caroline Estrada Carlson, an Irene Lopez School Science Educator, was named as the “Arizona Science Teachers Association (ASTA) Novice Science Teacher of the Year” award.  Carlson said, “My goal as an educator is to break down the gender and minority gaps in science career fields and I’m hoping this is an example of what can happen if you believe in yourself.”

Cloves C Campbell Sr Elementary School

Cloves C Campbell Sr Elementary School, located at 2624 E. South Mountain Avenue in Phoenix, serves students from Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade. It has consistently ranked either one or two at the top of schools in the RESD. It has just shy of 600 students enrolled.

Sunland Elementary School

Sunland Elementary School, located at 5401 S. 7th Avenue in Phoenix, has students ranging in age from Pre-Kindergarten to 8th grade. Sunland has received several high ratings with regard to academic achievements and student satisfaction. This school also is just shy of having 600 students enrolled.

C O Greenfield School

C O Greenfield School, located at 7009 S. 10th Street in Phoenix, serves students from the 4th grade through the 8th grade. The staff is committed, along with the parents of the students, to pursuing an educational environment that is positive and to be a place where the talents of students are encouraged.

Cesar E Chavez Community SchoolL

Located at 4001 S. 3rd Street in Phoenix, Cesar E Chavez Community School teaches students from Kindergarten through 8th grade. The school has just over 400 students enrolled. The school was named in honor of the American civil rights activist who co-founded the National Farm Workers Association in 1962.
